World of Warcraft: Forever

Miah's Mods: playing World of Warcraft TOGETHER

Anyone who knows me knows I used to LOVE World of Warcraft, but my career came first, so I stopped playing 10 or more years ago. World of Warcraft: Forever is here, I'm back in, and I'm re-learning the ropes.

I still don't care for the mods people say they "need": the DPS meters and the boss babysitters. What I missed most wasn't my gear. It was the people. The best nights were the ones where a group of friends did something TOGETHER. So that's what I'm building: mods and a website that get people playing together, doing things together and helping each other.

Live nowThe home base

ForeverCasuals.com

A free hub for casual players, with a guild or without one.

Every guild gets its own free site, like yourguild.forevercasuals.com, with a calendar, a Party Planner, a roster and a guild feed. Solo players get the Adventurers' Board to find people on their side who play when they do. Starting a guild with nobody in it yet? It works with no officers at all.

The website is the town square. The mods are what bring it into the game, because that's where people actually spend their evenings.

Free

No ads, no paywall. A guild site in about a minute.

0 installs

The mod syncs by copy & paste. No extra programs, and you can read every line before it goes anywhere.

Together

Every feature exists to get people into the same group, on the same night.

Built · testing for launchThe big one

The Event Coordinator mod

Plan it on the website. See it in the game. Show up together.

The hardest part of any guild isn't the boss. It's getting five people online at the same time with a tank AND a healer. This mod (it ships as ForeverCasuals Sync) connects your guild's website to the in-game calendar, so planning a night out takes a couple of clicks and everyone sees it where they actually are: in the game.

📅

One calendar, both places

Events made on the website go into the in-game guild calendar, and in-game events and sign-ups come back to the website. Sign up wherever you are.

🛡️

Party Planner

"Need a tank + healer for Scholomance, Saturday 8pm." ANYONE in the guild can plan a group, and guildies claim the Tank / Heal / DPS slots ahead of time. No more waiting an hour for a healer.

📣

Ask for the guild calendar

Members plan a group, then tap "Request in-game calendar". An officer approves it with one click, and it shows up in everyone's calendar.

⭐

Points for showing up

GPP (guild participation points) rewards people who come when they say they will. One click in a raid takes attendance. Guilds without officers to spare can let it score itself.

🖱️

No commands to remember

A minimap button opens a point-and-click window: Events, Groups, Buddies, Goals, Thanks and GPP, with a tooltip on every button.

🔒

Honest by design

Everything the mod sends is shown to you as readable text first. The website checks a fingerprint, and the mod checks the site's signature, so nobody can paste in fake points.

How a night comes together

  1. Someone has an idea. "Deadmines Friday at 8?" They post it in the Party Planner. It takes 20 seconds.
  2. The guild fills the slots. People grab Tank, Heal or DPS. The Trusted Group Builder suggests reliable guildies who are usually online then.
  3. It lands in the game. With one click it's in the in-game guild calendar, and in the mod's window for anyone who missed the website.
  4. Short on people? Tick "open to the realm" and players with no guild can find the open spot on the Adventurers' Board.
  5. You play. Together. Take attendance with one click, thank the healer who carried you, and the guild's Goals tick forward.
ForeverCasuals — Sleepy Murlocs Hi Brewsworth! Here's what's happening. Built · in the same modHelping each other

Helping Hands: "I was helped by…"

The kindest players in a guild usually go unnoticed. Not anymore.

Someone ran you through a dungeon, gave you a bag, or came back for your corpse? Click Thank someone: who, what, where, why. It takes ten seconds. Thank-yous add up to helper ranks (Helpful, Assistant, Mission Guide, Dungeon Master, Raid Caller, Event Organizer), and the rank icon shows up next to their name in guild chat and tooltips. Everyone can see who the helpers are, and helping becomes the thing people want to be known for.

  • Thank your whole group after a run with one button
  • Rank icons in chat and tooltips: the guild's helpers stand out
  • Built-in fairness: no thanking yourself or your own alts, and daily limits
  • On the website too, with a Helping Hands board and feed

"The prize isn't the loot. It's being the person everyone's glad showed up."

More reasons to log in together

Built around people, not parses

🤝

Buddy Finder

Matches guildies by when they play, what they love to talk about, level and role. Get a heads-up in game when a buddy logs on.

🎯

Guild Goals

"Clear the classics", "everyone's alts to 50", "average guild level 40". Progress ticks forward by itself as you play.

🧭

Adventurers' Board

For solo players and brand-new guilds: find people on your side who play when you do. Names stay hidden until you say yes.

🍺

The Tavern

A guild feed for screenshots and short clips. Off-limits topics (politics, religion, sex) stay at the door, with simple moderation.

My other mod ideas

In progressMod #2

The MADHOUSE Event Manager

Ridiculous challenges. Real friends. Fair results. Create silly in-game challenges and competitions for guildies and anyone who wants in. A good group turns World of Warcraft into a social club, and social clubs do EVENTS. The prizes are just the hook. The mod is what you use to create the fun, and it shows recruits there's more to your guild than the grind.

ConceptMod #3

Player Attitude

Life gives you cactus plants; only YOU choose to sit on them. /ignore works for chat, but it's a constant fight. I want shared, tiered flags: someone flagged as a jerk, a ninja looter or a guild-bank thief by enough people you trust stays out of your groups automatically, with cooldowns so it stays fair.

ResearchingMod #4

Private World

Imagine World of Warcraft for JUST you and your friends. Forever keeps guildmates in the same world together, and I'm exploring how far that can go toward a "bubble" for a guild or a group of friendly guilds. I'm not sure it's possible yet, but I want to find out.
